2. In a nutshell
Noise runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no tracking, no analytics tools, no advertising and no cookies set by the app. The noise is generated locally on your device; settings, presets and WAV exports never leave your device.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you access the site, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested file, and browser and system information (user agent). This is required to deliver the site and to protect it against attacks.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and reliably. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: Cloudflare privacy policy.
4. Local storage on your device
So that the app works offline and remembers your settings, the following data is stored exclusively locally in your browser:
- your most recent sound settings and the presets you create (IndexedDB),
- your language choice and whether you dismissed the install hint (localStorage),
- the app files themselves (service worker cache), so that Noise starts without an internet connection.
This data is not transmitted to me or to third parties. Storing it is strictly necessary to provide the service you explicitly requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). You can remove it at any time in your browser settings (“Clear site data”).
5. External links
This site links to bhemsen.de and to GitHub Sponsors (GitHub, Inc., USA). These are plain links: a connection to the respective provider is only established when you click them, and their privacy policies apply there.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
